Kindergarten 61 Tzur Itzhak
Tzur Itzhak is a communal settlement in the east side of Israel strategically located on a ridge overlooking its surroundings
Most of the plots are characterized with a steep terrain causing some “half plots” leftovers that where considered “unusable”.
Our office was invited to suggest a solution to some of these challenging plots and we were asked to try and place 3 class kindergartens in two of them.
With some creative thinking we were able to provide a solution in the form of two story buildings that uses the steep terrain to its benefit. The buildings are open and welcoming and enjoy the great view from a roofed foyer. Each class is placed in a way that gives maximum privacy and has its own privet playground. The buildings themselves are used as a retaining wall to minimize the cost of landscaping.
